    UPCOMING Events

PoP Science - Polar Science and Global Climate Change - February 19-21

Put on your parka as the North Museum's PoP Science program explores the Polar Regions and global climate change.  Featured presenters include Chris Williams of Franklin & Marshall College, and Dr. Bob Vaillancourt of Millersville University.  Popular Zany Science presenter Darryl Baynes will also make an appearance with his popular cryogenics presentation.

The North Museum's PoP Science programs are funded by the National Science Foundation Grant, Portal to the Public.  The goal of Portal to the Public is to increase face-to-face interactions between area scientists and the public.

     CONTINUING PROGRAMS

Read, Touch and Discover - Thursdays from January 8 through February 26 (10:30 a.m. - Noon)

What do you know about places that are really, REALLY cold?  What can you find frigid environments and what lives there?  We'll travel to opposite ends of the earth to learn about cold places.  Using a different book each week, this program encourages pre-school age children to explore their world.  An adult is required and older siblings are encouraged.

Family Science Sundays - First Sunday of every month (1:00 - 4:00 p.m.)

Science fun for everyone!  Explore the museum and participate in hands-on activities, interactives and science demonstrations.  Sponsored by the Dart Foundation, all Family Science Sunday activities are included in admission.

Grands are Grand! - Second Saturday of every month (10:30 - 11:15 a.m.)

Grands are Grand! provides the opportunity for grandparents and their pre-school aged grandchildren to explore science and natural history together, and includes a story, touchable specimens and a craft activity.
